THE AUTHOR

Isabelle Adriani

Isabelle Adriani, alias Dr. Federica Federici, Doctor in History of Traditions,
is a historian and scholar of myths and legends,
a film director, actress, writer, and professional journalist.
 
Daughter of two neuropsychiatrists — her father a pupil of Carl Gustav Jung —
she speaks five languages and has lived in several countries.
President of the Rotary International Agorà Commission for Art, Cinema and Performance,
and founder of I.A. Academy, a film production and acting school based in Italy,
she studied cinema at the New York Film Academy and at the Actor’s Studio in New York,
working for RAI and in major international productions.
 
Author of dozens of books on the historical roots of fairy tales, myths, and legends,
she has brought forgotten truths back to light
with the elegance and wonder of an enchanted voice.

THE WORK

The True Story of Cinderella

When humankind read destiny in the stars,
a young woman of extraordinary beauty and thirst for knowledge
was born in ancient Greece, in the land once called Thrace, 2,650 years ago.
She bore many names — Doricha, Rhodopis, Rosetta,
the Face of the Rose, the Rose of Samos and Memphis,
and, finally, the Queen of Egypt —
but the world remembers her as Cinderella.
 
She grew up on the island of Samos,
alongside the great mathematician Pythagoras.
She met Aesop, the inventor of fables, her companion in captivity,
and Sappho, the greatest poetess of antiquity,
who immortalized her in verses of fire.
Later, in Egypt, she met the Pharaoh of Upper and Lower Egypt, Amasis,
thanks to a golden sandal.
Thus she became Queen of Egypt.
The Great Historian Herodotus wrote that many Greeks believed one of the pyramids of Giza had been built for Rhodopis
